BRANDING PROJECT

Overview of Grand Design

My client, Grand Design, was developed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Leaving families trapped in isolation has created the want and need for home improvements, globally to new homeowners and anyone wanting to redesign their home. Grand Design is an interior design company that works with residential and commercial contractors, specializing in residential interior design. Our designers provide top quality designs and can bring one's imagination to life. The applications our clients use allow them to upload images of the areas they are designing, including their thoughts and expectations. In the following step, the designers take note of the information and will provide a free estimate, to give a visual, prior to construction. This allows our customers to see their visions and ideas transformed into a 3D blueprint. Using the most current and advanced technology allows the clients' visions to be seen upfront and clear.

Logo and Logo Usage for Grand Design

The Grand Design logo represents innovation and creativity. The letter "A" is replaced with a house to illustrate home interior design. The letter "I" was transformed into a lamp with a glare of light shining above it, representing the homeowners' ideas they may have when wanting to redesign their home. This also defines the innovation and thought process of the customers. The way the logo was designed portrays the company's identity and purpose.

Reinventing this logo would lead to failure. The letters are pushed together, not allowing customers to see the full vision of the Grand Design logo. It does not look neat and pristine, instead it looks unprofessional, messy, and difficult to read when it is squeezed together. There should be no instance where this company logo would be distorted or taken out of context in any way, such as the example shown.  The colors, the font, and the overall design of the logo must stay the same. Failure to do so will result in major consequences.

Color Set for Grand Design

The Grand Design logo is represented by four individual colors. First and foremost, the chosen font color is black, portraying a formal and sophisticated style for the brand image. The color purple illustrates the characteristics of intuitiveness, creativity, and imagination. This shows our clients that we encourage them and our designers to remain open-minded. The color yellow represents intellect and optimism, welcoming new ideas.

Font(s)Set for Grand Design

The font chosen for the Grand Design logo is Niagara Solid. This font is a design font that is bolded and has a sophisticated appearance. There are also two fonts that create the font set for Grand Design, Playfair Display and Playfair Display Bold. Playfair Display makes up the body paragraphs under the Playfair Display Bold headings. These headings have been bolded   to show where clear beginnings start and divide the information in sections. Both of the fonts selected to represent Grand Design portray elegancy and a clear visual of the letters.

Sources of Inspiration

The NV Design logo was used as a source of inspiration when creating the Grand Design logo. The primary aspect of this logo was used as an example in the lamp. The lamp serves the purpose of illumination and intelligence, which was translated into the Grand Design logo, with light shining from behind it.

The font in this logo represents a business title with a hint of professionalism. The logo appears as an elegant title that looks trusting and professional. Grand Design wanted the font to appear this way to the customers and for the purpose of brand identity.

Home Interior's logo provided the idea, regarding the house structure of the design. The house represents home interior design, which the "A" in the Grand Design logo is replaced with a house. This is a simple way of creating the brand's identity.
