LEARN THE BASIC SKILLS OF VIDEO EDITING
The instructions in this section was created to suit the individuals who acquire knowledge through the read/write learning style. This set of instructions is also downloadable through a Word document and a PDF listed at the bottom of the page.
1. Open the Adobe Premier Rush Application.
a. Locate and click on the Windows icon which holds all computer applications.
b. The Windows icon features 4 blue squares inside of one big square.
i. The Windows icon is located in the task bar at the bottom of your screen.
ii. The icon will appear on the left-hand side, the first icon in the row.
iii. Click on the icon.
c. Locate and Click Adobe Premier Rush.
i. The icon is dark blue and features the letters ‘Ru”.
ii. If the Adobe Premier Rush icon is not on the application page, you can click in the search bar of the menu and find it that way.
2. Click on the blue button “Create New Project”.
a. This is a blue oval button located at the top left of the screen.
b. Click on the icon and a new screen will appear.
3. Import the images/videos you want to use for your video.
a. On the left-hand side of the screen are files where your images/videos are stored.
i. Click on the file tab where your images/ videos are stored.
ii. Select one by one which images/videos you want to include in your video.
b. Click the button “Create” located at the bottom right-hand side of the screen.
4. Position your images/videos in order.
a. Place the cursor over the image/video you want to move.
b. Click on the image/video.
i. Hold down on the trackpad.
ii. Drag left to right depending on where you want the material to go.
5. Crop a portion of a video you don’t need.
a. Click on the single video you wish to crop.
b. Hold your cursor over the left or right side of one of your videos you wish to crop.
i. A bracket will appear with an arrow protruding out of the middle of the bracket.
c. Hold down on the trackpad and drag from left to right to crop out the portion you want.
6. Add transitions between videos.
a. Locate and click on the transition icon on the right-hand side of the screen.
i. The icon has three vertical lines stacked upon each other with a lightning bolt at the end of it.
ii. A drop-down menu will appear, and transitions is the first category listed.
b. Select a transition that best suits your interests.
i. Click and hold down on the transition you selected
ii. Drag over to where your videos are all lined up.
iii. Drop the transition between two videos.
7. Add music to your video.
a. Locate and click on the Audio icon.
i. In the left- hand corner click on the add button.
ii. The button is a blue circle with a white plus sign inside of it.
iii. On the right-hand side, the third icon over is the green Audio icon.
b. Choose the music you want in your video.
i. In the bottom right-hand corner of that tab click Add.
c. Position the music.
i. Drag your selected audio underneath of the images/videos.
ii. Expand audio by dragging to the left or right.
8. Add text.
a. Locate and click on the Graphic icon.
i. In the left- hand corner click on the add button.
ii. The button is a blue circle with a white plus sign inside of it.
iii. On the right-hand side, the second icon over is the pink Graphic icon.
b. Click on the text of your choice and insert it.
i. In the bottom right-hand corner of that tab click Add.
ii. Double click on the title button that has appeared.
iii. Edit your text.
iv. Drag text above which ever video you want it to appear in.
9. Export Final Video.
a. Locate and click on the Share button on the top left-hand of the screen.
b. Click on the file you want to save it to.
c. Click on the Export button.
