Hair Growth Tips

Having curly hair is a blessing in disguise. The thing about hair growth is it can be so tricky involving so many oils, vitamins, and products which can make you feel very lost and question what actually works. You could follow every step in the book but sometimes the speed of how your hair grows can be different depending on your hair type and how your body produces those oils to make your hair grow. For this week's blogs I am going to be going into more depth of some tricks and tools you can use for enhancing hair growth.

Tip 1: Scalp Massaging

Massaging your scalp on a daily basis or when you're shampooing produces more blood flow to your follicles. Follicles can sometimes get blocked from product build up so this tip can open them back up and will give you more volume too. It is also important to give yourself a five minute or so massage if and when you are using an oil treatment.

Tip 2: Rosemary Oil

Using this oil is not only good for hair growth but also clears up a dry and itchy scalp or if your scalp is producing a lot of dandruff. On the Criola website, they have a natural rosemary oil and a growth serum oil as well that my curly hair community swears by!

Tip 3: Black Castor Oil

This oil is perfect for nourishing and protecting your strands. A little goes a long way so you don't have to use to much of this on your scalp. You can also use this for your lashes, brows, and hair. The Black Castor Oil that the hair communities thrive over is the bottle from Ulta Beauty.

Tip 4: Don't over shampoo

Obviously everyone's hair is different, but shampoo dries out your scalp more than you may realize. People with finer hair usually should wash their hair more frequently but if you feel you can go another day without washing, make that right decision!

Tip 5: Leave in Cinnamon and Coconut Oil

Mix these ingredients together, store in the fridge, and then warm it up when you're ready to use. Put in your hair when it is dry and leave in the mixture for about 45 minutes and then wash out.

The core to taking care of curly hair is protecting your scalp and nourishing it as you would your natural curls. The scalp is at the root of everything and will reflect your hair routines, how much product you use, and how much you take care of it. Taking care of your curls is a necessity, but do not forget about the scalp!
